donning an apron?
chocolate cake, baking powder biscuit, grandma's pecan rolls.
leaning into the curve of a piano?
melody--low and wistful, round and full like a nutty, dark roast.
teaching a language?
translation, punctuation, pontification.
raising a child?
leading another through the joys and sorrows of life.
writing an epic?
in poems and lyrics and lines.
serving a community?
edifying, connecting, caring--speaking truth.
swallowing my pride, this path is peace--walking, loving by a lighted countenance in joy and sorrow and faith.
