a new day persists--
the rising of the sun, the turning of the world, as it was the day before.
this way, or that way? straight or a turn?
under, over, or around.

today is a day i shall close my eyes and feel the sun upon my lids--
warming my skin while the brisk wind fills my lungs.
today is a day i shall imagine the sun to warm my skin,
as it hibernates within the winter sky.

a new day persists--
and i shall lean in with the grace and joy of a child asleep in maternal arms.
